Renovation of POCARI SWEAT Factory at Tianjin Otsuka Beverage Co., Ltd. Visitor-friendly Factory Conveys the Importance of Ions and Fluid Replenishment

Operations were relaunched in June, 2015 following a complete renovation of China's first POCARI SWEAT manufacturing facility, established by Tianjin Otsuka Beverage Co. Ltd. The renovation improved production capacity by three times, with enhanced quality control in response to increasing demand.
A pathway for plant visitors features an informative presentation using state-of-the-art technology to convey the importance of proper rehydration. Through this visitor-friendly production facility, Tianjin Otsuka Beverage aims to contribute to the health and wellbeing of the local community.

Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Tokyo, Japan: President Tatsuo Higuchi) has announced the June 14, 2015 resumption of operations at the fully renovated POCARI SWEAT production facility operated by subsidiary Tianjin Otsuka Beverage Co., Ltd. Established in 2002 as China's first POCARI SWEAT production base, the Tianjin factory renovation aims to meet rapidly increasing local demand.

POCARI SWEAT distributed in northern China including Tianjin and Beijing are manufactured and marketed by Tianjin Otsuka Beverage Co., Ltd. POCARI SWEAT for southern parts of China such as Guangzhou and Shanghai are manufactured and distributed by Otsuka Sims (Guangdong) Beverage Co., Ltd.

Established in 2002, Tianjin Otsuka Beverage Co., Ltd. has been engaged in the production and sale of POCARI SWEAT in Tianjin, Beijing, and other areas of northern China. In response to enhanced health-consciousness and the growing number of Chinese people who regularly enjoy sports, the company has also worked to educate consumers about the importance of proper rehydration with a focus on POCARI SWEAT. In addition to triplicated production capacity and enhanced quality control, the renovated production facilities incorporate a visitor's path conceived to convey the importance of proper hydration to plant visitors. State-of-the-art visual technology recreates the climatology of northern China and conveys various easy-to-understand consumption scenes from daily life, while an exhibition gallery introduces worldwide production and distribution of POCARI SWEAT, providing visitors with an informative and entertaining presentation of hydration facts. In addition to producing quality products that can be consumed with confidence, this visitor-friendly facility aims to contribute to the health and wellbeing of the local community.
