First Small-Volume Vitamin Drink in Japan to Exceed 30 Billion Bottles in Accumulated Sales

Tokyo, Japan - Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Taro Iwamoto) today announced that on May 18, 2011 its carbonated nutritional drink Oronamin-C Drink became the first* small-volume vitamin drink in Japan to exceed accumulated sales of 30 billion bottles.

Since its release in 1965 and spurred by the widely recognized advertising catch copy "Genki Hatsuratsu!" (Full of Vitality), sales of Oronamin-C Drink reached 10 billion bottles in 1985 and 20 billion bottles in 1995. Sales are expected to continue this growth momentum as Oronamin-C Drink has become a favorite nutritional drink across multiple generations of consumers.
