• Otsuka Pharmaceutical has been making efforts to preserve the "Awa-Odori" dance, a traditional culture of Tokushima for over 400 years known as one of the three major bon-odori dances. The Embassy of Japan in Denmark had requested Otsuka Pharmaceutical to dispatch its employee dance group "Otsuka-Ren" to perform Awa-Odori at the 6th Copenhagen Sakura Festival.
• Otsuka-Ren's activities are considered part of Otsuka Pharmaceutical's corporate contribution to the succession of local traditional culture. Since it is beyond mere entertainment, only those who have passed the audition judged by professionals are eligible participating the dance group, as they "must not perform poorly". Otsuka Pharmaceutical and Lundbeck's alliance stretch out beyond business, hoping to commit in cultural exchanges between Japan and Denmark as well.
• In 2011, Otsuka Pharmaceutical had agreed on a largest global scale alliance with the Danish pharmaceutical company Lundbeck, in the field of the central nervous system. Two companies will make joint efforts in research, development, and commercialization of three compounds, including Abilify Maintena and Brexpiprazole, discovered by Otsuka, and LuAE58054, discovered by Lundbeck which is currently under development for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease.

Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. (headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo: President: Taro Iwamoto) dispatched "Otsuka-Ren", a 44-member employee dance group (19 males, 25 females), to take part in the Copenhagen Sakura Festival held on Saturday April 27 and Sunday April 28, to perform a first-ever traditional "Awa-Odori" dance in Copenhagen, with the cooperation of the Embassy of Japan in Denmark.
