How intense is trail walking in the mountains for older people?
This research suggests that muscle fatigue after trail walking
may be reduced by BCAA supplementation.

Tokyo, Japan―Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.(Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan; President: Taro Iwamoto)today announced the results of a trail walking research that showed two days of trail walking in the mountains required a high-intensity effort for older people compared to daily walking training, and corroborated the necessity of sufficient nutritional support during the intense activity. The results also suggested that muscle fatigue after trail walking may be reduced by BCAA* supplementation. The collaborative research was carried out between Otsuka Pharmaceutical's Saga Nutraceuticals Research Institute and Professor Hiroshi Nose of the Shinshu University Graduate School of Medicine.
