The Tokushima Itano Factory of Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Tokyo, Japan; President: Tatsuo Higuchi) was among the cosponsors of the 8th Asan Walking Festival in Itano, held on Sunday, November 20 in the town of Itano, Tokushima Prefecture. The annual event focuses on the theme of "Thinking about Health and the Environment."

First held in 2009, the Festival, aiming to convey the importance of good health and environmental stewardship to a broad segment of the public, is organized by a committee of representatives from local government and businesses. The festival centers on a walking rally (4km, 10km) through the natural beauty of the Asan mountain range in Itano Town. It also features tours of SOYJOY and SoyCarat production facilities, a soccer workshop with coaches from the Tokushima Vortis soccer club school, and outdoor live music performances, attracting large numbers of participants and contributing to revitalization of the community and cultural exchange. The 8th annual Walking Festival attracted more than 9,000 participants.
