Otsuka Pharmaceutical Enters into Cooperative Agreements with Hokkaido Government Entities - Partnership Agreement for Promotion of Hokkaido Residents' Health Initiatives - - Cooperative Accord for Children's Education and Sports Promotion -

  • Signed on November 22, partnership agreement with Hokkaido Government aims to support the goals of the "Healthy Hokkaido 21" health promotion plan.
  • Also finalized on November 22, cooperative accord with Hokkaido Government Board of Education aims to promote children's education and sports.
  • Otsuka will maximize expertise in heat stroke countermeasures, prevention of lifestyle-related illnesses, nutritional education, and sports promotions, cooperating with the Hokkaido government entities to contribute to healthy lifestyles for Hokkaido citizens.

Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Tokyo, Japan; President: Tatsuo Higuchi) has entered into a partnership agreement with the Hokkaido Government for promotion of Hokkaido residents' health initiatives and a cooperative accord with the Hokkaido Government Board of Education for promotion of children's education and sports. The dual agreements were signed on November 22, 2016 at the Hokkaido Government Offices.

Seeking to extend healthy life expectancy and reduce health disparities*1, the Hokkaido Government has announced the Healthy Hokkaido 21 Plan*2, with citizens playing a central role in health promotion.
The Hokkaido Government Board of Education is working to mobilize schools, households and communities to maximize the potential of Hokkaido's children.

Already cooperating in various health promotion activities with the Hokkaido Government, Otsuka Pharmaceutical registered to support the Joint Declaration for Hokkaido Health Promotion*3, in MONTH YEAR, and has been working with related groups and organizations to support the health and wellbeing of Hokkaido residents.
With the conclusion of the dual partnership agreements, these cooperative efforts will be expanded as Otsuka cooperates with Hokkaido government entities to maximize expertise in areas such as heat stroke countermeasures, prevention of lifestyle illnesses, nutritional education and sports promotion, providing health-related information and products based on scientific evident to contribute to extended healthy life expectancy and reduced health disparities for prefectural citizens.
