(Head office: Kanagawa, Japan; President: Akinori Saito), collaborating to promote Health Management®* to improve work-life balance and reform working styles, have announced the February 26, 2020 launch of Health Support Plus, a service designed to help manage employee health.

The need for health management in the workplace continues to grow, affected by Japan's work environment reforms combined with the continuing decline of the working-age population due to aging. In response to these needs, Otsuka Pharmaceutical is channeling accumulated expertise to make Health Support Plus available to more than four million users of NEOJAPAN's groupware desknet's NEO.

Reporting on health support for workers has tended to be limited to comments such as "inadequate measures" or "no outcome." However, the ability of workers to use Health Support Plus in tandem with everyday functions of desknet's NEO such as email, schedule management, workflow, and attendance management will make it easy for employees to sustain and make a habit of monitoring their own health.

Health Support Plus is a service administered via the Health Support function in desknet's NEO created though the application of Otsuka Pharmaceutical expertise. The service will include introduction of a Sleep Improvement Program to help support improved sleep habits, which have a significant impact on workplace productivity. After completion of the approximately one-month program, results will be compiled into two different types of reports provided to user companies as feedback. Reports can also be created for and provided to individual participants who can then use them to improve health literacy and lifestyle habits. Reports for management can be used to gain understanding of the health status of their employees and improve the work environment and personnel management. In addition, useful advice on improving lifestyle habits and information on the themes of work and health aimed at bettering health management will be included in each report.
