The research and development on Cosmedics began in 1990 at the Otsu Skin Care Research Institute in Shiga Prefecture, Japan. Otsuka researchers wanted to improve people’s health not only from within, but also from the outside, by ensuring the skin, the body's protective covering, was cared for. Focusing on AMP*2, a substance produced in the body, their passion and commitment bore results with the creation of a new active ingredient, Energy Signal AMP*3. Formulated based on this, Otsuka Pharmaceutical's InnerSignal product line obtained approval for novel effects and efficacy and was launched in 2005*4.
