Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Head office: Tokyo, Japan; President: Tatsuo Higuchi) has announced the renewal of the popular Peanuts version of the SOYJOY brand of soy nutrition bars. The new SOYJOY Peanuts will be launched throughout Japan on March 9, 2020.

Containing no wheat flour, SOYJOY is a gluten-free food made of highly nutritious whole soybean flour, incorporating the pleasing texture of fruits and nuts.

Retaining the nutritional benefits of whole soybean flour and the satisfying flavor and texture of crunchy peanuts, the renewed version of SOYJOY Peanuts contains 1/4 less sugar*1. A high-protein, low GI food, SOYJOY Peanuts offers a convenient way to consume soy protein.

About Low GI Foods

'GI' stands for 'glycemic index,' a measurement of how carbohydrates and sugars in foods affect blood sugar levels. A low GI indicates gradual absorption of carbohydrates, which is said to offer benefits for weight control. Foods with a glycemic index of 55 or less are considered low GI.
