Epidemics peak twice a year: in the winter and again from spring to early summer. Cases decrease in midsummer, but they do not disappear entirely, so caution is needed all year round.

You should finish all the antibiotics prescribed, even if the fever and sore throat have gone. Stopping the medication before the course is complete brings a danger of a recurrence or of developing rheumatic fever.
