Otsuka Pharmaceutical (Head office: Tokyo, Japan; President: Tatsuo Higuchi) has announced the February 25, 2019 nationwide introduction of SOYJOY Crispy Sakura, a spring-season limited addition to the SOYJOY line of whole soy nutrition bars.

Heralding the advent of spring with the subtle fragrance of cherry blossoms and a refined Japanese flavor profile, new SOYJOY Crispy Sakura features the light and crunchy texture of puffed soy that characterizes the SOYJOY Crispy series. Offering a new option for health-conscious individuals in various consumption scenarios, the new flavor aims to further expand the SOYJOY brand.

SOYJOY

SOYJOY line has steadily expanded its selection of flavorful nutrition bars, each delivering the equivalent of 35 whole soybeans. Incorporating the light and crunchy texture of puffed soy, SOYJOY Crispy was launched in 2016.

A low-GI food

'GI' stands for 'glycemic index'. A measurement of how carbohydrates in foods affect blood sugar levels, a low-GI indicates gradual absorption of carbohydrates, which is said to offer benefits for weight control. Foods with a glycemic index of 55 or less are considered low-GI. All SOYJOY products are recognized as low-GI foods.
