Reverse Daylight Savings Program to Shift Peak Energy Consumption

  • A reverse daylight savings program will be implemented from July 1 at our 7 domestic production and research sites, involving a total of about 2,000 workers. Under the programme business hours will start and end one hour later.
  • The purpose of this initiative is to shift the Company's peak energy usage times in order to help reduce energy consumption during peak summer hours.
  • The daylight saving program will also provide secondary benefits, like enabling employees to spend more time with their families.

Tokyo, Japan ― Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan; President: Taro Iwamoto) announced today that it will implement a daylight savings work schedule between July 1 and September 30 where shift times will start and end one hour later than normal, in order to help reduce energy consumption during peak summer hours. Production and research sites in 7 domestic factories and research facilities will participate in this program, centered on operations in Tokushima Prefecture , and with a total of around 2,000 workers involved.
