Tokyo, Japan - Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Taro Iwamoto) has announced that its Tokushima Itano Factory will cosponsor the November 11 Asan Walking Festival in Itano, a charity walk held in the local Asan mountain range. The event, organized by Itanocho, with the support of local businesses, offers participants from near and far an opportunity to experience the natural beauty of Tokushima.
This year's event has been organized as a charity walk, with a portion of entry fees to be donated to Great East Japan Earthquake relief efforts. "Running comedian" Kanpei Hazama, who recently completed a nine-day marathon covering 462 kilometers to encourage residents of quake-hit Iwate, Miyagi and Fukushima prefectures, will be a special guest. Masumi Fuchise, Japanese entrant in the London Olympics women's 20km race walk and member of the Otsuka Pharmaceutical Track & Field Team, will also join participants in the 4km and 10km walks.
